Duración: 56 min.

Director: Peter Oxley

Sinopsis: This BBC3 documentary must surely win an award for the most ludicrous title in recent televisual history. 'Blood on the Turntables : The War of the Roses' concentrates on the many struggles in the evolution of the Stone Roses, and makes a pantomime villain of the band's former manager Gareth Evans. Although Evans admits to witholding information and money from the Roses, he comes away looking conceited, greedy, scheming, but ultimately stupid. Full marks to BBC3 for presenting a rounded view of the story (it's very rare to hear fully of Silvertone's involvement, for example), but I have reservations about the pacing. Only 6 minutes of the hour were devoted to the launch of their second album, Evans sueing the band (and ultimately settling out-of-court) and the prospect of a reunion! Shaun Ryder - looking like a character from Little Britain - adds little of interest, but interjections by Noel Gallagher and Mani prove enlightening. The former Rose, for example, tells us that management witholding funds is "like someone shagging your missus". Overall, a decent but flawed insight with some great archive footage.
